How Do Automatic Changeover Valves Work?

Automatic changeover valves are designed to keep your gas flowing without interruptions. Here’s the lowdown:

• Service and Reserve Cylinders: Your gas setup will have two groups of cylinders. One is the “Service” group, which you use first, and the other is the “Reserve” group, waiting in the wings.
  
• Switching Automatically: Once the “Service” cylinders are empty, the valve kicks in and seamlessly switches to the “Reserve” cylinders. A red indicator pops up to let you know it’s time to order more gas. Your supply stays uninterrupted while you get that sorted.
  
• Refilling and Resetting: After you’ve got new gas cylinders, just seamlessly turn the knob to set the indicator to GREEN again. Open all the cylinders and operation will continue as per normal. Make sure you always have two cylinders connected and they are open.
• This is the most effective way to ensure you will never have gas interruption. Just go check to see if the indicator is RED or Still GREEN. If Red replace the empty one , turn knob to see GREEN again , easy as counting to 3, 1, 2, 3 done.

Operating Your Changeover

Getting started with a changeover valve is straightforward:

1. Initial Setup: Choose which cylinders you want to start with as the “Service” group.
   
2. Watch the Indicator: When the red indicator shows, it’s your clue to call the gas supplier.
   
3. Cylinder Replacement: Once a cylinder runs out and is replaced, the changeover knob is adjusted to point to the partially used cylinder, marking it as the new “Service” group.
   

Tips for Proper Installation

• Positioning: Always install the changeover regulator above the cylinders. This setup prevents condensed LPG from collecting in the regulator, prolonging its life.
  
• Upgrade Kits: If your setup uses more than four cylinders, consider an upgrade kit, especially if your installation exceeds 32kW.
